Wednesday Evening Walk -Forest Park - Everett

Let's do a series of urban forest walks.  We will be walking on trails in parks and probably some neighborhoods surround the parks. The paths may be muddy, dusty, uneven and rocky in places.  Come prepared with proper footwear - no flip flops or crocs.  There may be some uphill and down but I will try not to make it too strenuous and if you have difficulty let me know and I may be able to provide an alternate route.  We will walk 3-5 miles, in about 1.5 to 2 hours (starting promptly at 7 we will be done by 9pm)

This week  we will hike some trails in Forest Park and then stroll through some neighboring streets. There are views and mansions along the way.

Forest Park

This 197-acre wooded park is Everett's oldest and largest park. It is home to the Parks and Recreation Department administration offices, recreation office, Swim Center, playground, picnic shelter, wooded trails and Animal Farm. The Rotary Centennial Water Playground opened at Forest Park in July 2007.

Remember that the weather is getting warmer and access to water may not always be available along the way (but is in some cases) so bring along water for your dogs and yourself.

Dogs in attendance must be leashed and have their owner present.

Children under the age of 12 must be in a stroller, leashed or have a separate handler than the dog. They are not allowed to walk the dog and must be respectful and stay away (unless invited) from dogs that are not their own.

We will make it a priority to walk as a group.  Paces may be a little different but I will stop along the way for others to catch up.  Everybody needs to watch out for others.  Let somebody know if you need a break or are going to turn around/

Please check email or this site the day of the event for any last minute changes or cancellations due to weather, road closures, illness, etc.  I will try to post last minute details by 7am.

Arrived a bit after 7, took a hike down Pigeon Creek and at the waterfront, as I was delighting in the breeze an eagle flew overhead! My elder dog might not make these walks, she was pretty pooped with an hour and a half walk. Sorry to have missed y'all.

Sorry we missed you, deb. we never did the pigeon creek trail this time. Our Monday walks tend to be a little easier and shorter if that works better for you.

We hiked some trails, walked some neighborhood streets, saw some mansions and beautiful views. We even climbed a few hills to get the heart rate up. Great evening. Thanks everyone. See you all soon.

Meet in the parking area across from the animal farm. Look for my blue Hyundai Tucson. We try to start right at seven. As always check back before leaving on case of rain delay(highly unlikely)
