Let's get in the holiday spirit by doing festive walks in neighborhoods dressed up for the season. Afterward we can find a spot for a hot toddy for additional cheer.
Olympic Manor near Greenwood
The Olympic Manor neighborhood in Seattle has it in their homeowners association rules that they are encouraged to decorate for Christmas each year. Dozens of homes are decorated and it's a longtime holiday favorite in Seattle. Don't be surprised to see limos driving through. Address: Start at Northwest 85th Street and 23rd Avenue Northwest
We will start at Larsen's Bakery (arrive a little early if you want a sweet treat beforehand) and we will walk to Olympic Manor and enjoy their Christmas Displays. Bring a flashlight and lights for your dogs.
Please check email or this site the day of the event for any last minute changes or cancellations due to weather, road closures, illness, etc. I will try to post last minute details by 7am.
Larsens bakery is open until 7:30 on weeknights. If you want to pick up a sweet treat before (or to eat along the way) be sure to stop by between 6:30 - 6:45. I would like to start walking at 7 or not too long afterwards. There is street parking along 24th and along 80th. Just be aware of the no parking signs near the corners. There is also a small parking lot that belongs to the church on the other corner. It does say for church school only, but my friend parked there last year no problem so if you want to take your chances there you can. It is a few blocks walk to Olympic Manor which will be good for the dogs to stretch their legs and get settled into the walk before we get to the Xmas neighborhood. If you are arriving late, I think you can park along 85th near 23rd and meet, hopefully, meet us in Olympic Manor.
Wish for good weather and see you later.
