  • I will be working on weekends through Mid January but that leaves my weekdays free.  I am planning a weekly hike on Fridays for those able to join me. They will be within an hour or so of Edmonds, run 6-8 miles with 1000 - 2000 feet elevation gain.  I may through an easy snowshoe in as well. These are intended to keep us in reasonable hiking condition so come spring and summer we aren't starting from scratch.  Do not be intimidated but come with the attitude that this is to improve your hiking.

In the event that my work schedule changes I will  notify attendees as soon as possible and may reschedule day and time.

    GROUP HIKING
Hiking with a group is very different from hiking as an individual. Each hiker has a responsibility to the group, as the group has a responsibility to each hiker. Participants  should plan to stay with the group for the duration of the hike.

    CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT
Dress for the Pacific Northwest out-of-doors: expect rain, snow, sunshine, fog and everything between.

Yak Trax or Microspikes may be Manditory on this hike.  Please make sure you bring a pair along with you.  Winter has started in the mountains and can make for slippery conditions

    HIKER ESSENTIALS
    You Should Have:
    BACK PACK WITH
    FOOD, WATER,
    EXTRA CLOTHING,
    RAINGEAR,
    FLASHLIGHT, MATCHES,
    HIKING BOOTS OR HIKING SHOES,
MAP & COMPASS, FIRST AID KIT,
    EMERGENCY SHELTER

Extra clothes, at minimum, should include a warm hat, gloves and a warm shirt/top. Cotton is not advised. Synthetic materials such as fleece and wool are better alternatives.
Some circumstances could require you to spend the night outside.
Being prepared is for your safety and the safety of the group.

Dogs are required to be leashed on this hike. If you decide you want to unleash your dog, it must be under voice control, stay on the trail, and away from leashed dogs. Give your self and dog adequate space from others. Please respect other hikers on the trail and restrain your dog when approaching or being approached by others

Basically, the closer in and more popular the hike and bigger the group the more insistent I am that dogs remain on leash. You should come expecting to have your dog leashed at all times.

This Week lets Hike the West Tiger 1 Trail
