This week let's do the North Creek Trail in Mill Creek. . This would be about 5 miles RTs shared by cyclists so dogs need to be on short leashes when on the main trail (no retractable leashes unless fully retracted).
Nice easy, level, paved trail running behind Mill Creek Town Center to McCollum Park. About 5 miles round trip if we make it all the way to McCollum Park.
North Creek Trail
The ten foot wide hard surface
trail is approximately 2.5 miles
long running between McCollum
County Park and 164th St. SE.
The trail was designed to
accommodate a variety of uses
such as walking, jogging, and
cycling. The settling for the trail
is wooded with some gentle hills.
There is no lighting for night use.
The trail offers great wetland
vistas and bird watching.
Daylight savings time, spring and summer, evening walks. The extra light gives us more options and the opportunity to explore park trails as well as surrounding neighborhoods. We will be able to see things we don't usually get to see on our dark winter evening walks.
We may be walking on trails in parks and probably some neighborhoods surround the parks. The paths may be muddy, dusty, uneven and rocky in places. Come prepared with proper footwear - no flip flops or crocs. There may be some uphill and down but I will try not to make it too strenuous and if you have difficulty let me know and I may be able to provide an alternate route. We will walk 3-5 miles, in about 1.5 to 2 hours (starting promptly at 7 we will be done by 9pm)
Dogs in attendance must be leashed and have their owner present.
No children under the age of 12, unless they are in a stroller.
We will make it a priority to walk as a group. Paces may be a little different but I will stop along the way for others to catch up. Everybody needs to watch out for others. Let somebody know if you need a break or are going to turn around/
Please check email or this site the day of the event for any last minute changes or cancellations due to weather, road closures, illness, etc. I will try to post last minute details by 7am.
