Shoreline's Million Step Challenge - Kickoff Event

THIS IS A CITY OF SHORELINE EVENT THAT I AM POSTING FOR MEMBERS INTEREST AND PARTICIPATION.

Does your workout need a challenge? For the entire month of May, you can participate in the MILLION STEP CHALLENGE by logging the number of laps you do around the path at Paramount School Park.

Dogs allowed on leash.  Scoop law in effect.

Did you know?
The loop at Paramount School Park is 1/3 mile long and takes approximately 725 steps to complete one lap.

THIS IS A NO HOST EVENT, MEANING NOBODY IS IN CHARGE AND YOU ARE FREE TO COME AND GO.  I DO HOPE THAT YOU WILL MAKE AN EFFORT TO MEET UP WITH SOMEBODY FROM OUR GROUP AS THAT MAKES WALKING MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE.  I WILL NOT BE AT THIS EVENT BUT I WILL POST TWICE WEEKLY WALKS AT THIS PARK FOR THE MONTH OF MAY, SOME OF WHICH I WILL BE AT.  I WOULD LIKE THOSE PARTICIPATING TO LOG THEIR LAPS SO WE CAN GET SOME IDEA OF HOW SUCCESSFUL OUR GROUP IS.

Kickoff Event
Saturday, May 3
9:00 a.m., Free
Paramount School Park Picnic Shelter, 155th Street and 8th Avenue NE

To kick off the challenge, the community is invited to an opening event on Saturday, May 3, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. A warm up and inaugural lap will be led by Crossfit Hailstorm with energizing snacks from Earth and Fire Kitchen, both local businesses. The Ridgecrest Neighborhood is sponsoring the event and asks people to bring a donation of a non-perishable food (preferably healthy) for Hopelink, Shoreline’s Food Bank.

How does it work?

The Million Step Challenge will take place during the whole month of May. Log the number of laps you completed each time you visit the park in one of the following ways:

Use the paper Step Tracker sheet located on the path by the playground.Scan the QR Code on the Step Tracker Box with your smartphone to go to an online version of the Step Tracker you can easily complete.Click on the Step Tracker link on the right side of this webpage to go to online version of Step Tracker.Walk as many laps and log your total laps as many times as you want during May. We’ll convert your laps to steps and keep track of the totals. At the end of the Million Step Challenge we will award prizes to our *top steppers.

*To be eligible to win prizes, you must give us your email address at least one time on the log sheet so we'll know how to contact you.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
