Wednesday Evening Walk - St Edward State Park - Kenmore

Daylight savings time, spring and summer, evening walks. The extra light gives us more options and the opportunity to explore park trails as well as surrounding neighborhoods.  We will be able to see things we don't usually get to see on our dark winter evening walks.

We are going to do the trails in St Edwards State Park.  Probably hike down to the lake which means we then have to hike back up to the lake.  Trails can be steep and narrow in spots so proper footwear is mandatory (no crocs or flip flops) and hiking poles could be helpful if you can manage both poles and dog leash.

Dogs in attendance must be leashed and have their owner present.

No children under the age of 12, unless they are in a stroller.

We will make it a priority to walk as a group.  Paces may be a little different but I will stop along the way for others to catch up.  Everybody needs to watch out for others.  Let somebody know if you need a break or are going to turn around/

Please check email or this site the day of the event for any last minute changes or cancellations due to weather, road closures, illness, etc.  I will try to post last minute details by 7am.

A discover pass is required. This is a state park. Meet in the parking lot between the seminary building and the ball fields . Look for my blue Hyundai Tucson.

We will be gone for a week to Winthrop but will catch up with ya when we get back. I'm afraid this hike will be too tough for my lungs:( don't want to hold the parade up.

Discover passes are required to park inside the park, aren't they?

A nice shady spot while the weather is hot....sounds like a great walk for my first trip out with the group....and I have wondered about the "expansiveness" of this park.
