Autumn Afternoon Walk - Llandover Woods

Since I am doing an REI class on Wednesdsay evening in place of our normal walk I am scheduling a Monday afternoon walk.  If this is well attended maybe I can make this a regular on our calendar. Let me know your thoughts.

Ann has suggested Llandover woods in Shoreline and it is an area I have been meaning to explore.  There is a nice walk through the woods and then we can walk the neighborhood streets.  Plan on about an hour walk.

Several beautiful gravel-surfaced trails wind their way through dense northwest forest, while bright colors pop out at you from all around. The trails provide a great, if narrow, view of the Olympic range. Visitors to the park are bound to see many hikers, joggers, people walking dogs, or smoking a pipe.

I am having car troubles and unfortunately now can't make it! Have to take my car to the shop instead (transmission trouble, yuck!) Sorry to miss out, hopefully will be able to join in soon.

See you all later. Please note the parking area is not large so park as smartly and tightly as possible and be patient and courteous if waiting for a spot. Thanks.

Is this a fairly easy walk? My dog has mild arthritis in one foot and can handle an hour if it's mostly flat terrain. We'd love to come!

Erin, I have never been to this park, but the pictures make it look like it is not too strenuous. It's not very long in the woods (just over 1/2 a mile) and then we will be walking neighborhood streets. Come out if only for a bit and try it out.

Hi Erin, I have been to the park before and there is some elevation change - maybe 200 feet? So not strenuous by any means, but not flat either. There are a few "stairs" (beams in the trail) in one spot. Also, the path may have gravel (this was always the worst for my older dog). I second Kathy tho - you should come try it for a bit - I'm sure your dog will enjoy meeting everyone even if s/he isn't up for the whole walk.

Can't make it this Monday, but would certainly join in next Monday if it repeats.
