Autumn Evening Walk - Edmonds Waterfront Walk

The days are getting shorter and the evenings a little darker but the weather is generally still good through the autumn.  Let's continue meeting in the evening for a walk.  We will just have to stick to lighted streets and not trails.  Be sure that you are equipped to be seen in the waning light.  Bring a flashlight and/or put lights on yourself and your dogs.  I use Nite Ize Lights.  They are great little lights (come in a variety of colors) that either flash or have a steady beam and clip nicely onto the dog's collar and my zipper pull.  They are widely available at most pet stores (next to nature, All the Best) and drug stores (Bartell's).  I am open to suggestions about where you like to walk so if you have a favorite route let me know and I may post it.

Please check email or this site the day of the event for any last minute changes or cancellations due to weather, road closures, illness, etc.  I will try to post last minute details by 7am.

This week lets walk the Edmonds Waterfront.  Beginning at the library we will walk down and walk along Sunset avenue to Marina Beach and back up.  This is about a 3 1/2 mile loop.  Those not wanting to go that far can head up Main Street from Sunset back to the library.

How about a treat at Revelations Frozen Yogurt Shop following the walk:

that was fun for the seemingly short time i was with you... got a bit confused and didn't realize you would loop back around, thought the library was near the ferry dock for some reason :/
    until next time!

Wonderful evening. It is fun to see all the dogs with their lights on. Yummy yogurt afterwards, too. Think about other fun places to have a snack or warm drink afterwards on future walks.

I agree, it was a great evening. This is such a great group to walk with. I sometimes worry when the size gets a little large about things getting out of hand. But when I start walking I realize my fears are unfounded. Everybody is a pleasure to walk with and the dogs form a great pack almost immediately. Thanks all.

Such a fun walk tonight and what a well-behaved group of dogs! I don't know if everyone heard, but there was a lady standing by her car on that dark street and she said it was fun watching all of the lights on the dogs coming down the street. It was quite a parade!

First visit and we were a little late, but the group was wonderfully welcoming and it was a great, relaxing opportunity to meet other dog owners without the stress of a large, crowded dog park. Looking forward to meeting again! :)

We'll be running a little late but hopefully catch up with you somewhere near the library after the walk starts. :)

We will start from the lower parking lot at the Edmonds library at 7pm. If you are running late we will walk down Dayton towards the off leash beach (we will not be stopping at the dog beach) so you can pick us up along the way, and then walking the length of the waterfront back up along Sunset.
This is a larger group than normal so please be respectful of residential property, lawns and gardens. There will be places your dog can relieve itself.
I do walk in the rain, although tonight is supposed to be dry.

    re: wed walk:

I'll definitely be there even in the rain, my dog actually has a super cute rain coat I'm hoping to show off haha, and a collar light. :D

See you all tomorrow evening at 7. Looks like the best day of the week for a dry walk.

Wednesday walkers, if I don't have enough room in the comment field I will post in Discussion Section.
I was thinking about a Halloween walk and also thinking about a service project we could do with our dogs. Then I thought about combining the two. A canine costume walk at a retirement/nursing home, rehab center, children's hospital?
If anybody knows somebody at a facility maybe you could contact them to see if there is any interest and what the rules are about bringing dogs.
I don't have a lot of time to be contacting a bunch of different facilities so your help in this would be appreciated.
I think I got my point across in 1000 characters or less.
