DESCRIPTION OF THE HIKE: Just off the shores of scenic Deep Cove in North Vancouver sits a large rocky outcrop known as Grey Rock. A hiking trail, also known as the eastern most section of the Baden Powell Trail, leads to this point, offering scenic views of Indian Arm and the mountains around Belcarra. The start of the Baden Powell Trail begins along Panorama Drive just beyond the park area. Look for the sign on the left side of the street and walk up the edge of the driveway towards the wooden steps. The first section of the trail climbs quickly up the set of stairs and then up and over the maze of tree roots. Go right towards the clearing in the trees as the trail climbs up onto the solid rock. You have arrived at the Grey Rock.

Thank you Renee for organizing this event and all of you for waiting - I'm sorry we got our wires crossed and missed one another! Glad we met up on the trail - a lovely afternoon! :-)

Robin and I used the "fast way down" with the trail with the rope on the rock face. Exciting, but without a device called "descender" skin could get rope-burned unless you use hand-over-hand. We did not run into anybody else. There are now two sub-trails to where the rope begins, if you're going up from the Marina.
