Sonoma County VegFest!

The Sonoma County VegFest will feature nationally recognized speakers, vegan cooking demonstrations, informative exhibitors, VIBE vegan artisan market, vegan ice cream and more. We hope to reach out to the veg-curious community and show them how fun, delicious and just plain awesome plant-based eating is. This event is a long-time dream for Compassionate Living (www.socoveg.org) and it is going to be tons of fun. We hope you will join us!

Mark your summer calendars for August 16th. Check out our website here: www.socovegfest.org.

Wanted to mention that today house rabbit advocates nationwide turned out to oppose WFM's test marketing of rabbit meat in their stores. There were a dozen of us at the Sebastopol market, educating, getting signatures on our petition to WFM, and getting comments to turn into WF from customers. We did well there and we trust WFM management will take heed. Because people aren't eating beef and pork as they once did (thanks to our efforts), management is looking for the next victim. Please support our efforts in this!

I forgot to say I really enjoyed the movie. I will be calling Greenpeace on Monday to find out why they did not give an interview. Having recently saved a chicken--who is sweetheart--I really appreciated that part of the movie.

Wow! That was a great VegFest! I learned from and appreciated the speakers, enjoyed the tables and talking to people (especially the hip hop vegan music), seeing so many people interested in veganism, but most of all that my best friend decided to go from vegetarian to vegan because of the talks he went to. I very much appreciate all the hard work you folks put into making this a fantastic, informative and life changing day.

Just got back and wanted to say how loving it was to have folks in the group that know me, and people I notice, familiar faces, friends from prior dinners together, etc. I loved running into everyone there, and having that group experience watching the movie together. I loved how we laugh together and the comments being shouted out make it an experience so unique and connected. btw, for those who tasted the truffle cheese - YUM! It was my favorite food I sampled. Another btw, would anyone like to have a salad master meet-up? I would really like to get one but I don't have the full cash to just go out and buy it without the party discount, so I'm considering doing a SaladMaster meetup on the Walkers group very soon: http://www.meetup.com/West-County-Walkers-Potluckers/

Just back from the Veg Fest and before I do anything else I want to say how powerful it was for me to see so many people, hungry for a compassionate way. Sure, a lot of vegans and vegetarians, but also many veg-curious folks. Thanks to all who put this on, may you rest well tonight, you deserve it., especially those who didn't sleep last night, worrying all was ready for today. May this be the first of many festivals celebrating compassion in our county.

Is there going to be a meeting area for the Meet-Up folks who are attending this event?

    1 · August 10

    • wendy

Kimberlee - the venue isn't so big that you it shouldn't be difficult to find folks - but there are events going all day and not everyone wants to do the same thing at the same time
