  • This location is shown only to members

I invite you to MeetUp with another potluck group for a walk among shady redwoods, and potluck. Sorry for the short notice! Details follow:

Meet at 10:00am and we go over the trail details, and gather. Hike at 10:10am. This will mainly be a walk and bird watch, so bring binoculars or cameras too. Potluck after finishing the loop around Lake Benoist. If you are unable to attend the walk please meet up with us at the picnic tables. We will be there after the walk.

Walking sticks welcome.

For more information about Riverfront go to the county site:

Parking is $7 per vehicle

The flowers will be in full swing! Bring cameras!

We will walk around the lake trail and back: about 1 hour walk

Potluck after the walk - please bring non- perishable food (raw vegan recipes work well on hot days).

-Fruit salad

-Crisp green salad

-Hummus & chips

-Cole slaw

-Anything you can make the night before and bring (with a cold pack or bag of ice on top) to hold in the car while we walk - non heated foods most likely.

Please bring your own serving and eating utensils, plate, cup, bowl and napkin.

It is welcomed, but not a requirement, to bring a potluck dish that serves 5 people. Please also include an ingredient list with your potluck dish - vegans cannot eat meat, eggs, dairy or honey. Paper and pen will be provided if you forget to do this beforehand, just ask (check your ingredient list for hidden animal products like casein, whey, gelatin, meat or fish broths, honey, etc.). Raw food vegan items that may contain raw honey - be sure to have that labeled in a way people can see it easy and keep it on a separate table to avoid mistaken identity.

Dogs: Permitted on leash no longer than 6' in length. License required.

Wish I could make it, I live really close to that park! I'm going to the Empty The Tanks protest at six flags tomorrow though! :)
