Learn moon photography during the “Golden Hours.” Shoot the moon over the "City" with San Francisco Chronicle retired staff photographer Frederic Larson. Discover some of the tricks of the trade photographing the full moon as it rises during the magic moments of twilight. See how to plot landmarks, read a compass, and choose an angle as the moon rises; measure exposures then scan images; and finally lay out your art for publication. Explore principles of light mastered by professional photographers of National Geographic magazine.
What you will be covering is moon photography. The range of focal length recommended is long to medium telephoto lenses. A tripod is suggested as the class will be doing long explorers in low light situations. The class will incorporate expose times, f/stop settings and certain photographic techniques that are beneficial in nighttime photography. Main areas of emphasis will be capturing peak moment.
