Saw the heavy cloud deck over SF, so diverted first to Hawk Hill where it was totally fogged in, then to Cavallo Point where I hooked up with a few other photographers. Still challenging conditions, but nice image when the moon finally rose above the clouds.

Nice! We got fogged in at Marina Green and didn't get any shots of the moon.

Very cool! Great combination of artificially lit city icons and the July moon.

Steve, love the shot...new to that location, was wondering what size lens you used to get it and was it on a full frame or cropped framed camera.

Thanks Bob. This was with my Sony 70-400G at 155mm on a new full frame Sony a7 (with the alpha to FE adapter). f8.0 at 5s and ISO 160. I've gotten similar pix with my old APS-C a77, so really no difference between cropped and full-frame sensors. In fact, probably a little easier with a crop sensor since you get the benefit of the extra magnification. The biggest trick with this was to expose for the moon (daylight) and bring out the shadows in pp.
