Weekly paddle-Mentor Lagoons

Welcome everyone:)  The lagoons offers a nice paddle whether we are able to go out on to the lake or not-- there are channels of marina and a sheltered beach access.  Going out the channel onto the lake, there are accessible beaches for about 1 1/2 miles.  For evening hours I would prepare with lights and a spray skirt in the event the group decides to lake it.  I enjoy this paddle site as I can get the exercise and see the birds, fish and turtle without going on the lake when there is wind.

Mentor Lagoons also offers a great trail way accessible by bike or hike.. I would be open to meeting early for that most months.  I will have maps of water and trail.

You will want to park to the right when you arrive, there is a sign showing water trailhead.  I will look into the lagoons plans to offer rentals and post hours if they keep them, this has been variable in the past. There is a regular restroom in parking lot and available outhouse at portage near beach.

Looking forward to some enjoyable paddles this summer:)

Although a gray and hazy start, it ended up a beautiful evening, we had 8 paddlers: 5 RSVPd meet up paddlers and 3 family visitors. Thank you all so much for your hospitality! Pam

Cool reedy start, nice to explore the circular marina, and the lake was like glass with a great sunset!

Is there adequate parking for someone using a trailer for their kayak(s)? If so I'm in and might bring someone with me.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
