This is a saturday event. You could plan on just doing that but there will be plenty of other paddlers staying at the state park the whole weekend.
It is a well organized event. You will paddle around the island stopping 5 times to get your cards for your poker hand. If the paddle is too challenging or you have any issues they have organized rides back from each stop if you feel that is necessary.
We found the paddle challenging, or maybe it was just the conditions that day.
Just about everyone who did the paddle won a prize. The best hands picked first. Most prizes were kayaking or Kelleys Island related.
Costs involved are minimal. Ferry, campground[masked], food. There is a small fee for the poker paddle itself which you must preregister for[masked]-2258. That fee is $10. I will post the phone number to register when I get it.
