Northeast of you good San Diegans, in Yucca Valley - high desert area just 25 minutes from Palm Springs where there is still open space and starry nights.
Street photography, macro-ish up-close-and-personal with my subject, places with history and texture, people in their natural environment verses a contrived studio.
Canon T70; Canon 30D; homemade pinhole; Sony point and shoot; Mini Diana ;-) Canon lenses: 24-70L, 50mm/f1.4; 100mm/f2.8;[masked]mm. Sigma 15-55mm
Bresson, Adams, Sally Mann, Weston, Dorothea Lange, Imogene Cunningham, Dewitt Jones...
Both but digital is just too inexpensive and convenient to not try and make the most of it. I still love the organic richness of film and the 'happy surprises' you can get by not totally knowing and controlling all of the output.
Looking for kindred spirits to hang with, shoot with, and expand my skills with.
Instant click. I appreciated the warmth, openness, and sharing of ideas and techniques. Looking forward to participating in future events!
