Romp around the Bay ... Monroe Bay ...

  • Oct 6, 2012 · 10:00 AM

Today we venture into new territory for the group - Monroe Bay located at Colonial Beach. Our paddling tour will take us around the perimeter of Monroe Bay for a total distance of 3-4 miles. Afterward we can venture on in for a bite to eat at one of the local eateries.

Time: boats hit the water at 1000

Rentals: this venue does not have equipment for rent.

Plug into your favorite mapping search engine the reference "Colonial Beach Yacht Center". Approximate 1/2 mile before the yacht center on Castlewood Drive is a public launch ramp where we will dunk our boats.

Extra note: Mornings are getting a little cooler now so you may want to bring a windbreaker to start out with. You can always shed the windbreaker as the temperature gets warmer.

Remember, when you RSVP 'yes' and are unable to make the event change your RSVP so the organizer knows not to expect you.

The hotline will be updated in case of event cancellation. Please call the hotline number the morning of the event to let your organizer know that you may be late or you have changed your RSVP (if not already done the night prior to the event).

Shellie, we didn't see the end of the channel. There are at least 7 or 8 more bends before the channel turns into a creek. We'll make that venture next time we hit Colonial Beach.

The end was a mirage? Np way! Ok, you are on. In spite of having to take ibuprofen the next day, i challenge you to find the end with me.

Another great trip. The wind provided a few challenges. It seemed like Monroe Bay went on forever! Thanks for venturing out again Shellie.
