You sound like a hardware hacker who would fit right in. Try to come visit tomorrow as we have our Open House and it's a great chance to get to know us. You'd also see our laser cutter, CNC mill, MakerBot, etc as well as learn about our classes and programs. For instance, we're just now kicking off our third 3D printer build group where the result is a Prusa for under $500. Thursday night, put it on your calendar. Besides, don't you need a place to go to break up your long commute? :-)
