West Tiger 1-2-3 Loop

After 2 months nursing my broken foot I'm leading Meetup hikes again. No more summer death marches, just some SLOW/MODERATE foothills. This will be a loop using some of the lesser used trails visiting each of West Tiger's three peaks. We will use the Lingering, TMT, WT1, and K3 trails. Staying together is a must to avoid getting lost on some unmarked junctions. We will try to stay away from the weekend hordes on the main WT3 trail. SLOW/MODERATE pace, about 2mph. Stats: Approximately 2,500' in 7 miles round trip. 4 hours of hiking. Bring your 10 Essentials. Come prepared for the cold, rain, and maybe snow. No dogs or babies. No shorts or bluejeans please. Meet 10am at High Point, Exit 20 on I-90. Park near the interchange, not at the main upper parking lot. The trail starts and ends at the interchange. We will return to the cars around 3pm-ish, or so, probably. Cell Phone:[masked]

Thanks for the trail condition report, Laile. Hope to see you on Sunday so you can break trail for us.

I did WT 1,2, &3 yesterday with my son. Even before last night's snow, there was about 1 foot of snow on WT1 and enough snow on the higher trails for a few turns on a snowboard. The slush on the lower trails is a bit slick, but should't be too difficult on the route you are taking. Some of the trails were not at all well tracked... only 1 person before us. It should be pretty day tomorrow... I'll join you if I finish my work today.

There will be snow for sure but I don't have snowshoes. I expect the trails to be tracked already so I'm bringing my microspikes. Bring good boots and dress warm. Trekking pole(s), gaiters, gloves, hat, and extra clothes will come in handy.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
