Hi Physics Meetup friends,

At our last meetup some of you asked that I re-post a promo for the new astronomy and space exploration themed podcast The Star Spot, a show that I'm hosting with a dedicated team of Toronto volunteers. We believe the show is unique in the attention it gives Canadian scientists and members of other fields related to space.

The website is

The show recently posted an interview with Dr. Carolyn Porco, the leader of the Cassini mission to Saturn imaging team.

Other guests have included Dr. David Lafreniere on finding extrasolar planets, Toronto science author Dan Falk, Victoria Kaspi on pulsars, Chris Lintott on how 300,000 people are contributing to space research through the Zooniverse project, and the next episode will feature Chuck Black on the Canadian space program and how it fits into international plans.

If this interests you, please refer to for ways to subscribe or listen to the show, which is now also available via Astronomy. FM, "like" us on facebook at and follow us on twitter @TheStarSpot.

We're also eagerly looking for volunteers to help with the show. This is a great chance to increase public engagement and literacy in science and space.
