August Fiction Meetup: Swamplandia! by Karen Russell

Swamplandia! is the story of Ava Bigtree, a 12-year-old alligator wrestler who embarks on an improbable journey through the mangrove wilderness of southwest Florida in search of a lost sister. Karen Russell's 2011 debut was named one of the year's top ten best books by the Times, and was one of three finalists at the center of the 2012 Pulitzer controversy.

Just wanted to say I had really been looking forward to this but I JUST got off work - and I'm only halfway through the book. But I'll be there for In the Garden of Beasts in September!

Hi. I am upstairs by the window and didn't know where all of you would be. Please let me know where I can join you.

Hi SN -- not sure if you managed to find us last night -- we usually meet in the downstairs seating area by the fishpond!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
