Alas, our poll resulted in a tie between A Most Wanted Man and Beijing Coma. Since A Most Wanted Man was an extremely close runner-up last time around, I am going to make an executive decision and choose it as our January notable fiction title. For those of you who are dying to read Beijing Coma, don't worry, it will be a candidate for February.
The RSVP for our January meeting has just been opened. There are 20 spots available, so please reply early if you want to guarantee a spot! I have not yet picked a meeting location, but will announce it as soon as it has been finalized.
Hope to see you at our next meeting, and enjoy the book!
If you read a lot of contemporary fiction and nonfiction that is well-reviewed by respected critics, then this book club is for you! For simplicity's sake, we will mostly be choosing our titles from the New York Times notable books list from the past 3-4 years.
The book club will meet midweek, alternating fiction and non-fiction selections chosen by our group of hosts. If one month's pick doesn't interest you, wait until next month when we choose new titles! The meetings will always take place at a DC metro location, near a metro stop. We usually meet at Science Club on 19th.
Happy reading, and we look forward to the discussions!
