The next Games Day is five weeks rather than four after the one we had today, 14th Feb. This is to avoid the Monsal Dale Walk event which is popular, and which I'll be going on myself. Unfortunately however it will be on the same day as the Sport Relief Mile event. The Games Day is a meetup of board or card games held at Fade/The Hard to Find Cafe, a cafe/bar on Mansfield Road, starting at 2pm and continuing as long as we like (typically we tend to finish around 6:00). If you have favourite games please bring them, and tell us about them in advance on this page. People are also always free just to socialise, eat and drink. If you are a newbie do come along, you are welcome and we want to make you feel at home. Attendance is only semi-regular and we always have new people. We try to make sure everyone who wants to play a game can do so. Fade sells alcoholic drinks, a range of teas and coffees and some rather good food. They usually reserve one of the back rooms for us for free so it helps to say thankyou by buying something! You can order cooked food up to about 6pm (check at the bar to be sure) and hot drinks up to 9pm. There is a small car park behind the building (access via Chatham St.) and parking on the back streets is free on Sundays. I promised Linda, one of the managers of Fade, to let her play Risk with us since she was once very keen on it, so how about a game of that?
