Ceilidh night

I'll be on stage giving instructions & encouraging people to dance. Come along and enjoy a good night of socialising and dancing, with a wee dram or two if you want. Meet up folk usually gather to the left side of the bar before going through to the function room at the back of the pub, settling themselves in and having a go at the dancing.

Dancing starts at 8pm. There is a charge of £4 each to cover the cost of the hall.

Ceilidhs (pronounced "Kay-lay"), are enjoyed by all ages – from youngsters’ first Scottish dancing experience to old-timers out enjoying a burl. People come dressed in jeans, full highland dress – and everything in between. Wear something comfortable to dance in.

You don’t need to know what to do – We’ll be dancing to recorded music. I'll be calling the dances and explain what you need to do as you go along. There are lots of friendly folk to give you a hand and get everyone up dancing.

Beeston Rylands is 5 miles south of Nottingham. Having found a road into Beeston follow signs at traffic lights south towards the Railway Station then keep straight on over the road bridge over the railway line. Immediately after the bridge keep going down meadow road and take the 5th turn on the right onto Grenville Road. Then turn left onto Trent road and the Boat and horses is on your left hand side towards the canal end. You will find the car park entrance on your left hand side just before the pub. The ceilidh will be in their function room through the back.

      Hi Kirsty,
Meet up folk tend to congregate at the left side of the front bar before coming through to the function room. I'll be through there setting up till about 7.45 then come through and say hello before beginning the dancing. See you tonight :)
