This will be a short walk (3 miles or so) around Bramcote and Stapleford Hills. The walk is quite steep in places, and often very muddy. Within Stapleford Hills there is Hemlock stone which is estimated to be over 200million years old (http://www.stapleford-notts.co.uk/hemlockstone.htm) and was used by the Celts/Druids as a place of worship.
We'll start from the car park at Bramcote Hills (where Coventry Lane and Ilkeston Road meet) at 11am. It should take about an hour or two to get round the entire route. You’ll need to bring waterproofs on this walk (in case of the inevitable!) and something to drink along the way.
To get to Bramcote Hills park you can catch the 20 and the 111 buses, both of which stop just around the corner from the park on Ewe Lamb Lane.
Hope to see you there!!
