Games Day

Games Day is a monthly meetup of board and card games held at a back room of Fade/The Hard to Find Café, a café/bar on Mansfield Road, starting at 2pm and continuing as long as we like (we tend to finish around 6pm but this varies according to everyone's stamina).

If you have favourite games please bring them along. There are some games actually kept in the café including chess and Jenga. Games that have been popular include: Jenga, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Cluedo, Risk, Monopoly; but there have been many more less familiar ones we have been introduced to (Dominion, Settlers of Catan, Jungle Speed, Super Cluedo Challenge and more...)

People are also always free just to socialise, eat and drink. If you are a newbie do come along, you are welcome and we want to make you feel at home. Attendance is only semi-regular and we always have new people. We try to make sure everyone who wants to play a game can do so. Games Days are always a lot of fun and eagerly anticipated!

Fade sells alcoholic drinks including some great bottled Belgian and British beers, a range of teas and coffees and some rather good food. They reserve a back room for us for free so it helps to say thank you by buying something! You can order cooked food up to about 6pm (check at the bar to be sure) and hot drinks up to 9pm. There is a small car park behind the building (access via Chatham St.) and parking on the back streets (such as North Sherwood St.) is free on Sundays.

Very good, a lot of hilarity and a nice mixture of games.

Unfortunately I accidentally double-booked myself for this Sunday so I can't make it! James has kindly agreed to be event host in my absence. Have fun everyone!

@ric: the 'maybe' option was removed from on high Meetup command, so we count maybe in the text field as a maybe. if that makes sense. maybe.
