Pot Painting!

  • Pot Painting is a fun activity for all age. And you don't have to be an artist to do it!Just let your inspiration guide you. Join us and have a great time painting, chatting and eating home made cakes! Also, with Christmas round the corner, it's a great occasion for you to make handmade presents for your loved ones :-)

    The Place:

Razzle Dazzle Pots is located on Woodborough road in Mapperley. It is quite easy to find and their front window is quite obvious. It is a spacious and brightly decorated Cafe where you can create you very own unique piece of art. They have a wide range of pots and shapes to choose from. You can choose to paint on tiles, vases, mugs, plates, or even decorative shapes such as cats, frogs, bikes planes and many more. The prices go from £1 to £25 for the biggest pot. You can have a look at their items on their website, but I found that there are more shapes available in the shop than on the website.

    http://www.razzledazzlepots.co.uk/Razzle_Dazzle/How_to...html

You can create decorative pieces for your home or it can be a present for a friend or family member.

    How it works:

The first thing to do is to choose a shape from the shelves. Don't worry if several people want the same shape, they have some stock at the back. Once you have selected a shape, a member of staff will give you paint and brushes and a quick intro on how to paint your pot and get the colours you want (2min max). Then, it's up to you!

Once you're done, a member of staff collects your art

piece and gets your details so they can contact you when it is ready. The pots need glazing and firing and they do that twice a week so you will have to leave your pot there for a few days at least.

All prices are fully inclusive, what you see on the item is the price you pay, no extra for the paint or firing.

How the meetup event will be organised:

We will gather in front of the shop for 11.15am (or maybe inside if it's too cold). You should plan about 1 - 1.5 hours to do the painting/chat/eat. Don't worry if you arrive later than that, just come in and join us. When everyone is done, we can move on to Capers Cafe or Duke of Cambridge Pub on the same road, depending on people's preferences, for a drink and a bite :-)

You can get to the shop by car, the postcode is NG3 5QQ if you use a satnav, and there are streets around where you can park for free. If you are coming by bus (like me), you can get there taking the bus 45 (the bus stop is next to the post office on Queen street). There will be a bus at 10.35 and one at 10.55am. It's about 10min ride.

Also, I will be going there to pick up my own pot when it's ready so if you want me to pick up your pot at the same time and bring it to you at the next meetup event you attend, we can arrange that.

I hope to see many of you there as it is really great fun! If you can't find us or need anything, give me a call at [masked] and I'll help you get there.

    See you there :-)
