Ceilidh night

I'll be on stage giving instructions & encouraging people to dance. Come along and enjoy a good night of socialising and dancing, with a wee dram or two if you want. Meet up folk usually gather to the left side of the bar before going through to the function room at the back of the pub, settling themselves in and having a go at the dancing.

Dancing starts at 8pm. There is a charge of £4 each to cover the cost of the hall.

Ceilidhs (pronounced "Kay-lay"), are enjoyed by all ages – from youngsters’ first Scottish dancing experience to old-timers out enjoying a burl. People come dressed in jeans, full highland dress – and everything in between. Wear something comfortable to dance in.

You don’t need to know what to do – We’ll be dancing to recorded music. I'll be calling the dances and explain what you need to do as you go along. There are lots of friendly folk to give you a hand and get everyone up dancing.

Beeston Rylands is 5 miles south of Nottingham. Having found a road into Beeston follow signs at traffic lights south towards the Railway Station then keep straight on over the road bridge over the railway line. Immediately after the bridge keep going down meadow road and take the 5th turn on the right onto Grenville Road. Then turn left onto Trent road and the Boat and horses is on your left hand side towards the canal end. You will find the car park entrance on your left hand side just before the pub. The ceilidh will be in their function room through the back.

This will be the last Beeston ceilidh until August, however there will be a very similar one in Nottingham city centre on 27th July. Free parking will be available, tickets need to be bought in advance as space is limited and there will be food (baked tatties, fillings, pudding etc). No bar but feel free to bring your own. Tickets are £8, available from Bernice on 0115 9637228. I'll have some tickets with me on 31st for those who are super organised.

I'll be there from about 7 to set up so feel free to come through and say hello. I'll be in the bar for about 7.45 to welcome folk but then I'll be up calling the dances so won't get much of a chance to chat. For those I have not met or don't have their photo uploaded yet. I'll be the one in the maroon kilt.
Look forward to seeing you all there.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
