NoVA UX June Meetup: Charting the Customer Journey with Experience Maps

For our June meetup, Jim Lane (that's me) will give a short talk about experience maps. As designers, part of our job is to understand how our customers experience our brand across channels and contexts. Experience Maps are a tool that can help organize and document how customers interact with a brand, and communicate key takeaways for the extended team. We'll look at:

• what experience maps are
• how to go about creating your own experience map
• how they can be used to communicate with your stakeholders

As always, there will be lively Q&A throughout.

For our newer members, I'm VP of User Experience at AddThis and organizer of the NoVA UX meetup. More info: http://linkedin.com/in/jimlane.

This will also be the one-year anniversary of our meetup, which was founded in June 2012!

Agenda:

6:30-7:00: Networking

7:00-7:30: Charting the Customer Journey with Experience Maps

7:30-8:30: Birthday frivolity

Beverages will be provided by AddThis.

Food sponsor is TBD, please contact me directly if your organization would be interested in sponsoring food for this or another upcoming meetup - thanks!

Jim does a good presentation, and it's great he's willing to share his UX analytics with us; too bad research is such an imperfect process, but we do the best we can.

    Hey Everyone,

Jim, great presentation last night! As mentioned during the open floor section, I'm reaching out to people working within the communication design, media, and technology space in the Washington metropolitan area to help expand collaborative opportunities for entrepreneurial endeavors. Each individual will provide their background and contact information here: http://bit.ly/17RTguv. Our current participants consist of marketers, user experience designers, and developers from companies ranging from Accenture to IBM. The file will not be published or distributed outside of Google Drive. The document will be used solely for networking purposes. Please feel free to share the initiative within your network!

    Thanks

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
