Beginner Level: Sunset / Super Moon Ride- The Capital Wheel
I have to wait to see how many organizers I can get to help with the ride. As more organizers show up, I'll take more off the waiting list. Just add yourself to the waiting list and I'll take as many as I can handle.
• Arrive at 3:30pm
• Rolling no later than 4:00pm (sharp)
• We cannot wait longer than 4:00pm, so I'll be leaving without you if you're not ready to roll.
Let's ride our bikes to the latest and greatest attraction found right at the National Harbor... The Capital Wheel. To ride the National Wheel will be $15 per person.
We will start out at the Washington Marina (Indigo Landing) and take the Mt. Vernon Trail South along the Potomac as we pass through Old Town Alexandria. From there we will cross over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge (take in the great view from the bridge) and proceed onward to the National Harbor.
The last half mile heading into the harbor is crushed seashells so those with road bikes should walk their bikes on this portion of the ride to avoid flat tires.
Our timing looks like this:
• Rolling at 4:00pm
• Get to National Harbor / Bikes all locked up by 5:15pm
• Ride the Capital Wheel (Thinking an hour to get tickets and ride)
• Unlock bikes / Rolling back home by 6:15pm
• Back at Indigo Landing by 7:30pm
• Sunset 8:09 pm / Moonrise 7:55 PM - The moon will rise out of the East South East (103° off of North)
• We will have some drinks / food on the deck of Indigo Landing and watch the sun set and the Super Moon rise.
• Indigo Landing open on Sun: 11:00 am - 9:00 pm
We should be back well before sunset, so "lights to see with" shouldn't be necessary... but if you want to bring a light just so people can see you at dusk, that would be great.

The Fine Print:
An RSVP of 'YES' is your digital signature and means you have read and understood MEETUP.com's "Terms of Service : Section 6.2 " found HERE (http://www.meetup.com/terms/) and NOVA-CBG's "Assumption of Risk Agreement" found HERE (http://files.meetup.com/1557670/NOVA-CBG_WAIVER.pdf).
Remember that helmets are required to participate in all NOVA-CBG rides. NO Helmet, NO ride, NO exceptions. All riders ride at their own risk and with the understanding that cycling is an inherently dangerous activity. When coming to the meetup you do so voluntarily and are ready and able to participate in the ride as described under the conditions of the day.
Be on time for the "pre-ride" preparation. This is when we check to make sure you have all the required equipment and the last chance for you to make sure your bike is ready for the ride. We will also talk through the route for the day and review basic safety instruction for group riding as well as other important topics. If you do not attend the pre-ride preparation, you will not be allowed to participate on the ride, so please be on time as there will be NO exceptions. Please also keep in mind the group's cancellation policy when you RSVP.
