It’s that time of year again to get your grill on!! On Saturday, August 16 from 1 - 5 p.m., join us at Virginia Highlands Park for great food, fun games and activities. AGLA and the Gay Men's Health Collaborative will provide almost everything you need for your total summer cookout experience, (i.e. grill, charcoal, buns, condiments, chips, beverages, utensils, plates)...you get the idea! All we ask is that those attending bring whatever they would like to see thrown on the grill! Whatever your heart desires-and don’t feel limited to just burgers or hot dogs! If you have a great bbq chicken or kabob or even marinated portabello mushroom cap recipe then get creative!! If you want to bring a side dish or tasty treat to share potluck-style, by all means. As usual with all our events, you certainly don’t have to be a member to attend-we welcome everyone! Bring the WHOLE family!
Again this year the picnic is Metro-accessible, only a few blocks from Pentagon City Metro. Virginia Highlands Park is adjacent to the Aurora Hills Branch Library and Visitor Center, this 18.38-acre park features diamond fields for Baseball and Softball, Tennis, Basketball, and Volleyball Courts, and lighted fields for multiple other uses. There are water fountains, restrooms, picnic tables, charcoal grills, gazebo, and paved trails. To help us prepare for quantities needed, please register online here. Free for AGLA members and donations are welcome.
All are welcome to join us regardless of whether you are an AGLA member or a resident of Arlington. Bring a friend, enjoy the great food and drink, and meet new people.

Our gazebo is located on the 15th Street side of the park across the street from the Archstone corporate apartments which are next to Nordstrom and the Pentagon City Mall. The area is kitty corner to Costco in a tree-lined park.
