Introduction
Hi -- I'm interested in urban homesteading mainly for the sovereignty of it, the dignity of it, the innocence of it. I've been doing organic gardening (pre-FDA) off and on since the 70s ... even worked on a Rudolph Steiner farm in England
What aspects of homesteading (urban or rural) are you most interested in learning about?
interested in urban (assuming a 1-acre lot near the beltway is not rural) ... Fairfax zoning requires 2 acres to raise a few chickens without special exception, so that's out, but I want to learn ...
What's your favorite way to preserve food?
time, salt, pressure, and heat ... fermentation, pressure canning, plain old sawdust
