[NEW DATE] Getting Started with Cross Platform Mobile Development in C#

UPDATE: Due to snowy weather conditions this meeting has been moved from Feb-12 to March-12.

Come join us for our first meeting and start learning how to build cross-platform mobile apps for Windows 8, Windows Phone, iOS and Android all in C#!  Discover the many benefits of developing mobile apps in C# and get introduced to some of the tools (like Xamarin) and best practices to successfully start writing C# code that can be shared across multiple platforms to deliver rich native experiences.

Pizza will be provided!

Speaker:
Ed Snider (@edsnider) is a software developer at InfernoRed Technology and lives in the Northern VA area.  He is primarily focused on building Windows Phone and Windows 8 apps and has been developing with C# since 2.0 on everything from ASP.NET to WinForms to SharePoint.  When he's not coding he enjoys running, collecting Hot Wheels and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Ed did a great job explaining the cross platform development and rolled with the punches when the demo guardians didn't play nicely.

Folks - We're looking at availability... would 3 March work? We'd also be looking for a speaker for our 12 March meeting by the way...

Couldn't our first meeting be building an app to get us out of snow storms...we should call it "NoSnowDay"

Should be a terrific event, although there is a nasty ice & snow storm bearing down on DC Wednesday night. Do you have any plans to reschedule?

    February 11, 2014

    • Dan U.

We're working to reschedule since it looks like the weather will be turning sour around the time of the event.

Writing my first Windows Phone 8 app and looking to improve the UI and add a web service.

Bruce, very cool! If you're looking to add a web service from the ground up, I'd recommend you look into Azure Mobile Services - it's very simple to get up and running. http://www.windowsazu...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
