May 24: Building Web Service Apps with Rails and MacRuby (Cancelled)

Cancelled: Sorry, folks. Our building has apparently been without power all day, and the estimate is that it will not be back on in time to hold this meetup. So, we have to cancel and reschedule it.

First Talk:  Building Web Services With Rails

While rails has web service features baked into the framework, Pete Broderick will discuss a few gems, and methodologies that will make this task easier.  Pete is co-owner of Simply Binary.

Second Talk: Introduction to MacRuby and Consuming the Aforementioned API

Justin Nash will give an overview on writing your first MacRuby application.  Bringing the talks together, his MacRuby app will consume Pete's API. Justin is co-owner of Simply Binary.

Food and Drinks: Food and drink for this meetup will be provided by Near Infinity Corp.

I am wondering what Pete thinks of using Padrino/Sinatra for web services?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
