1989 Dodge Turbo Colt, raced in Showroom Stock B in the 1990s. Car maintains original bolt-in roll cage and (upgraded) six-point harness. Vehicle is still occasionally seen at PDX events at Summit Point. 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A 4-speed. Car was used extensively in PDX-type events at Summit Point in the 1980s when the events were run under the direction of Bill Scott.
With R compound tires, the Turbo Colt is a ball to drive on tight courses, such as, err, Beach Drive in Rock Creek park in the early morning.
The Colt is not modified and still conforms to Showroom Stock rules. The T/A engine has been modified with a short track-style NASCAR cam/kit, four barrel carb, blow shield, Koni shocks, after market sway bars, and 9" wide steel wheels with 265x50x15 tires.
My dream car would be Chrysler building something that resembled the Honda S2000 and naming it the Barracuda.
I became involved with sports cars and road racing in 1961 when our family dentist, the well-known Dr. Dick Thompson, encouraged me to participate. In 1981 I became a regular at Summit Point as a driver, crew, and owner for a variety of cars.
