A Novel Bunch Pages

A Novel Bunch is about reading and discussing books, characters, and meanings; hopefully, by listening and sharing, we can all walk away a little richer and more intellectually stimulated than when we started. Plus, we get to walk away with new friends who love reading.

The discussion group varies from month to month as members come and go. It is a laid back crowd that is respectful of each others’ opinions. A Novel Bunch members pick the books. Every several months (like 3 to 6), members nominate new reads on the site’s message board, a list is compiled from these choices, and then we vote. At each discussion, we share questions about various aspects of each book. The discussions are never too lofty—one should not feel as if they need to be prepared for “Advanced Literary Critique 601.” Basically, we focus on the positives, but if a book really sucks, we say so. There will be a discussion leader each meeting; however, no one will be considered the final authority on perspectives, because, quite frankly, that's just silly.

We typically meet at 7:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month. Check out the Calendar for more details.

All adults are welcome—men and women, young and old…I’ll stop here as to not neglect any equally respected and important individual.

If you RSVP that you’re coming to the month’s book discussion, please do come (and read the book). If a member R.S.V.P.s, "yes" and doesn't show up without explanation, that member will be removed from the group.

Fees of $2 per discussion attended is required. This donation assists with the cost of the monthly subscription fee.

In February 2007, the journey began with Joey. Since then, A Novel Bunch has really taken off with its number of members. In July of 2008, Joey moved away leaving her creation behind, but Amy, A Novel Bunch member since August of 2007, volunteered to take on this baby. Amy passed on the torch to Lisa in 2009 and she has been leading with help from others ever since.
