About the book:

The Fault in our Stars by John Green

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green's most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Vote
We have chosen books through the month of August, and it is once again time to nominate. We’ll vote at August's book club discussion for the next Six months of books, and I’ll pass along the information to Books-a-Million so that copies can be available for purchase.

For the new folk in the group, here’s how things work. I post a thread on the Message Board. Members nominate a book by including the title, author, price, and brief synopsis of the book on said thread. I compile the nominations, bring ballots, and those who attend the discussion are invited to vote. For this next vote, we’ll be deciding what to read in September, October, November, December, January and February.

You can nominate whatever novel suits you. It can be something you’ve read or something new. All are invited to nominate. Please try to limit your nominations to 3 books per person.

Books-a-Million
A 20% discount is available for A Novel Bunch members at Books-a-Million. You will need to use the Community Member Discount number for this purchase. Members can find that number by following this link: http://files.meetup.c...

Contribution
A $1 contribution is strongly suggested and greatly appreciated to assist the organizer with costs related to A Novel Bunch.

Nourishment

We always go to a restaurant to dine after the discussion so plan to join us for this.

This is a popular group that usually has a waiting list. If you RSVP that you’re coming to the month’s book discussion, please do come (and read the book). If a member R.S.V.P.s, "yes" and doesn't show up without explanation, that member will be removed from the group.

YA fiction is not what I expected from this group! I would have nothing to contribute to the discussion.

I read A LOT and everything under the sun. Very few books have brought out a stronger emotional reaction, than this book did! Wowza!

I like to be challenged to read all kinds of books I wouldn't otherwise

We will be going to Applebee's next to Haywood Mall after the discussion on Tuesday.
Please update your RSVP if you find you can't make it to book club next Tuesday since there is a waiting list. This allows others time to read the book.
    Thanks!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
