I've got wood to burn. Lets do it again! Corwina Park is a City of Denver Mountain Park up Bear Creek, about 8 miles West of Morrison that has a shelter picnic tables and fire pits. Lets gather for an evening of barbecuing and hanging out around a campfire. Kind of like camping except you don't get to sleep on the ground afterward. Or will you? Bring something you want to grill or eat for a main course, your beverage of choice, and a side dish to share. Park rules state no alcohol other than beer in cans. Park closes at 11:00 PM. I have limited RSVP's to 24 as a permit is required for more. There may be another separate group there too. See
http://babyboomer.mee... If you got 'em, bring lawn chairs, a flashlight, tunes, libations and smiles.
Some extra skewers, a portable grill, and any firewood you may have around or anything else you can think of may all come in handy.
I don't think there are any restrooms there. Thanks Trusan for your note that there are facilities.
OK already one update: the new meetup time is 4:20. Finding it: Corwina Park is at Mileage marker 12, just W of a small bridge on Hwy 74, about 8 miles West Of Morrison, about 2 miles East of Kittredge. There are parking lots on both sides of the Hwy. Look for some lights at the driveway and the bonfire on the South side of the road. The shelter and fire is across the Creek over a footbridge. Weather forecast looks great, but wear some warm clothes you don't mind getting smoked. Chris Daniels and the Kings are playing that night at the Little Bear, about 4 miles up the road.
