North West Drupal Usergroup Meetup March 2013

  • Mar 6, 2013 · 7:00 PM

The March NWDUG meetup will take place on Wednesday 6th at MadLab on Edge Street from 7PM until 9PM.

For the March NWDUG we have Mark West (@markwestuk) who will be talking about Drupal Commerce.

We will also have the first public viewing of the videos created from footage taken at DrupalCampNW2012. There is one video regarding Drupal for business and one video regarding the Drupal community and the main DrupalCamp event.

We usually wrap things up at about 8:30 to 9:00 PM and move to a pub. Come along and join in the Drupal fun!

Sounds good. I remember seeing the camera, it wasn't easy going to sessions while keeping my best side to camera all the time just in case!*
I noticed an item in the latest Web Designer #206 p.14 'Why we dropped Drupal' Comment Evan Rudowski, CEO of SubHub - a provider of digital membership solutions, explains that finding the right CMS isn't as easy as you think
(There's no link I can find)
I wonder if Drupal 8 will address some of the issues raised, do others agree....? I'll try and bring the item if there's time.
    *Still going in circles....

The article in question is here: http://www.webdesigne...
      But can be summarised thusly:
"The Drupal community doesn't want to do what WE want to do. They do this weird thing where they do stuff for free and we don't want to contribute back at all! We like to build our own stuff and make money out of it really quickly. We still like to leach on the work of others so we are using an MVC framework with some of our own code bolted on top."
I think he just spat his dummy out :P

So, his perfect CMS is not really having a CMS?
