North West Drupal Usergroup Meetup February 2014

  • Feb 5, 2014 · 7:00 PM

The February NWDUG meetup will take place on the 5th at MadLab on Edge Street from 7PM until 9PM.

This month we have Matt Smith who will be talking about the the Drupal 8 Plugin API.

If there is one API in Drupal 8 that you should learn, it’s the Plugin API. This simple yet flexible system is used throughout core and is bound to be used extensively in contributed modules as well. In this talk Matt Smith will demonstrate how plugins are used in modules to provide blocks, text filters and field formatters. We will also look at creating our own plugin manager to allow other modules to extend functionality.

After the talk we will break off into groups so that people can talk through their Drupal problems with other members of the group. There is nothing formal planned for this, we will just ask if anyone has any problems and if anyone can help them solve it.

We usually wrap things up before 9:00 PM and move to a pub. Come along and join in the Drupal fun!

Great job Matt and gang! Quite technical at the end but the OOP start and insights to Drupal 8 and the changes afoot are a great help.
