Starting a Project in FileMaker

FileMaker is a great tool for rapid development and sometimes we just need to quickly create a database to store our data.  However, many projects require more planning.  We may, for example, ask questions such as the following:

  1. What is the purpose of this database?
  2. Who are the users?
  3. How many users are there?
  4. What devices will they use to access the database?
  5. What platform will they use?
  6. What are the user interface design requirements?
  7. What strategy will be used for the relationship graph inside FileMaker?
  8. What naming convention will be used?

This will be an open discussion with various developers going through the steps they take to begin a project.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
