I'll be teaching another series of weekly vocal classes this fall, and all singers are welcome! Below are descriptions of the Beginner/Intermediate class and the Advanced class. Please email me if you have any questions or are interested in more details! (I have some very loooong descriptions that I won't post here!). I hope to see some of you there!

Exploring Your Voice: Beginner/Intermediate, taught by Emily Eagen
Tuesdays from September 10 - October 29, 7 pm
This class will go through the basics of vocal technique and harmony and get you to a point where you feel comfortable singing one-on-a-part on some of the best harmony songs out there. We'll sing gems of old-time, country, blues, gospel, and bluegrass repertoire, building the basic ear-training and vocal skills it takes to sing in tune, in key, and in style. Beginners will acquire basic ear training and singing skills, beginning with singing the melody and moving to harmony. Intermediate-level singers will dive right in to learning harmony parts and eventually develop the skills to pick out harmonies on their own. This class is a great way to get to the point where you feel comfortable singing lead and/or harmonizing at a jam session or in a song circle, and will give you the general opportunity to stretch your voice through new songs and new ideas.
Exploring Your Voice: Advanced, taught by Emily Eagen
Tuesdays from September 10 - October 29, 8 pm
Level II will build upon the fundamentals covered in Level I. We'll do trickier harmony songs and work more in-depth on one-on-a-part flexibility, confidence, and independence, all the while sharpening your sense of style and your musical ear. Singers will learn harmony parts to three- and four-part songs, and also practice coming up with their own harmonies in various styles. Repertoire will draw from the core of standard American genres, but occasionally venture into eclectic, world music realms.
