Since I find it impossible to RSVP yes in the past few months (I am always last to try I guess), I decided to RSVP [No] as it seems to be the right and only thing to do.

Nice new design! Do we need to bring the ticket or will our name be on the list?

Can we just hand our tickets to the people at the door so we won't have to wait in line?

Any idea what the agenda will be for the July meeting? JP

Who attended?

  • 397 attendees
    •  Speakers were all interesting, some were better prepared and more engaged than others. Q&A seemed a little more disorganized than usual. If we can't get the mike to the questioner, the MC (or some designated person) should always repeat the question. I also recommend you move the 'gather points' (post-discussion with the presenters) further from the seating area. It creates chaos at the end, for people who want to meet the speakers, and for people who want to continue talking amongst themselves. The meetup remains a real resource to the community and a great way to spend 90 minutes.
    •  my first time there, certainly insightful. good group of smart people, great focused presentations, stays on schedule. Very well run - this guy must be like the founder of meetup.com or something :).
    •  great lineup!
    •  excellent event! can wait for the next one and i cant wait for the opportunity to present.
    •  The guy with the reviews summary system was awesome. If only all the presentations were that useful and clear. Also, presenters still need to work on 1) repeating the question 2) making judicious use of time.
    •  Great selection of companies.
    •  Well organized, great presentations, successful time-management.
    •  Interesting and enjoyale, great to listen to firms pitch and get queried by the knowledgeable audience.
    •  Good selection of companies
    •  Good content and moderation, poor audio made it difficult to hear many presenters
    •  Solid presentations. Great networking afterwards.
    •  This was my first official Meetup ever and I definitely plan on returning to this one. I appreciated the organization and time management of the evening, and especially enjoyed the Pluribo, DailyLit, and Wakozi presentations and presenters. I also agree with others that the Q&A would be better if there were a couple of people scattered on each side of the room with microphones or each presenter would automatically repeat the question for the audience.
    •  A good mix of companies
    •  Really excellent, much better than I ever thought it would be.
    •  Fun, right to the point with time to network
    •  One of the presenters was very rude to my co-worker and I when we approached him. A gentlemen that had info about the after event meet-up was also rude.
    •  needs booze
    •  Terrific! Very well organized & stimulating meeting!
    •  I thought the lineup of presenters was not as good as some of the other meetings.
    •  Thought it was well organized and presented with a good sense of humour. Would be interested in presentations in the media, mobile and signage space.
    •  The evening was well organized. I really enjoy the 5 minute cut-off.
    •  A. $10 is a little much for what it is. B. Startup selected are not that hot
    •  As always the chance to support and meet NY tech entrepreneurs is well worth it. July's demos were largely given by smart, well-meaning people, but their initiatives were, mostly, not commercially serious. Only one, DailyLit, seemed to have any business aims, which gave the gathering a kind of hobbyists atmosphere. For better or worse, dialogue is sharper and more urgent when survival is at stake. mwm
