really liked the 1 minute format since it forced the presenters to really distill their pitch.

1-minute format keeps the presenters focused. Bravo!

@John Fiorelli, I think 2-3 could have helped in some cases, allowed another question or 2, or when there were minor technical difficulties - like maneuvering Safari on a Mac when you're a Windows person, like I am :)

I liked the 1 minute format; it gave me zero time to lose focus on the company. The only thing that could have been done better is picking the questions from the crowd. I was sitting on the far right near the top (looking out from the stage), and there was this one guy that repeatedly was skipped! I'm sure the people on stage couldn't see him, but someone should have been helping out to pick people that really wanted to ask a question. Missed the last companies, wanted to grab free drinks! hah!

I loved the MongoDB demo - as I'm a geek at heart and appreciate the systems stuff. I'd like to see more technological innovative stuff vs. you typical content/social networking website.
  • LaToya Lecator
I had a great time. There were alot of people there, the meeting was well organized. I love the fact that we can ask questions.
  • Jason Richman
B/c meetups have grown to be hundreds of people, I'd find it very helpful to filter attendee lists by those in my network (social or business). Introducing Facebook Connect to see which of my friends are attending or Linked In so I understand relationships before attending would be awesome. Loved the 1 min speed round...keep up the great work!

Well done, interesting topics, and and its always entertaining. To get in the door was rather way ridiculous, a little organization would have allowed more people in more quickly in less of a crush of people who were actually waiting to sign in
  • Jennifer Anderson
I thought it was very well done overall. I would love if you added some sort of format to facilitate networking. Not sure what that would be. Maybe have colored nametags and ask people with the same color to gather on one side of the room, etc. Something to force people away from their friends to meet new people
  • Maria Kessler
Very interesting mix of companies. It would have been good to also have each tech minute and each tech 5 minutes share their revenue model.
  • Simon Gottesman
Like the new format of 5 1 minute presentations.
  • Audrey
It would be interesting if revenue projections/valuations could be presented. It would be interesting to see how feasible various business models are.
  • Simon Brief
Enjoyed the 1 minute pitches. Great way to introduce more companies and forces them to be on message.
  • Frank Rimalovski
Really liked NY Tech minute format...all of those presenters did a great job. Keep that up. Other (5 min) presenters were more of a mixed bag than normal.
  • Dustin
I'm not sure the NY Tech Minute worked extremely well. The presentations were halting and I didn't feel I learned much about the companies. If the idea is to bring attention to interesting companies that don't deserve a 5-minute slot, maybe Nate could just present them as announcements, as in, "Here are three new sites you should check out on your own because we don't have time for them." Or continue the Tech Fair idea from Internet week and do it once a quarter or something. This meeting tried to cram too much in.
  • Olaf Kreitz
Liked the new 1 min presentation format, would like to see more of these. Save time moderating before, after, in between ...
  • Nikita Bernstein
    1. Stop advertising to me. I feel bad for the kids and stuff, but this is not why I am here. If you must advertise, at least do it in a way that is concise. 2. Get more interesting presentations. These were not worth 10 bucks. I feel like a certain vibrance is lost.
  • Domenick Cilea
Most of the presentations were good tonight. also liked the new NYT "minute" demo idea.
  • David Vogler
More presenters with less time. 1 minute a pop was great.
  • Robert Gibralter
1 minutes were great idea and make the 5 minutes feel loooong. Great Meetup. Watched on Livestream.
  • David Hertog
Great format, not too much time spent on any one company--felt like I learned a lot.
  • Jonathan Wegener
Loved the 1 minute pitches. Thought there should be been a few more questions for each of the presenters.
  • Jon Thornton
Best one I've been to. 1 minute demos were fun, and overall the pace felt faster. Definitely better with 5 main presentations instead of 6. More companies like MongoDB would be awesome.
  • debnewman
Liked the short presentation format. Covered a lot of ground in 90 minutes. Good job.
  • Brad Shaw
liked the new format with the 1-minute presentations at the beginning. Also good to keep the DFJ-Gotham plugs to a minimum this time.
