Well organized, good presentations and demos

Really great line up of demo presentations.

Nothing that excited the audience, or had any "wow" factor, and some of the products seem half-baked. The presenters need to consider what they would like people to be saying about their products, and present accordingly, not merely "here's how you do this".

Good venue, good presentations, and nice crowd of people to network with.

It was my first meetup, let alone my first NYTM, and I was very impressed!

It is a great forum for creative minds to showcase their work. However like most conferences, most people had problems using the web while viewing the presentations. There were several free wifi that didn't work. And of course, my iPhone had poor 3g reception. It would be great if there was a dedicated network for the 700+ attendees to use.

Great new ideas coming to life.

The demos were excellent, especially the one minute start-ups. Good info. Great crowd. Moved along nicely. I have not complaints. This is an excellent way to learn not just about start-ups, but watch the innovation employed in the products. Provides inspiration for Product Development. I think the networking is always a little weak, because of the volume of people. There needs to be some way to give people looking for developers to work with a place to meet, even if it's just a list that you sign to say, I'm interested in meeting developers who have X skills, and then developers can list what type of projects they are looking for.
  • Phillip Stearns
The projects were too web tech obsessed. All the ideas seemed to be very young and fresh, full of enthusiasm, but most projects could benefit from some critical thinking. Almost all projects were revenue oriented, which is no surprise, I suppose if they're looking to attract investors. All this talk of connecting with "consumers" is a little stale at this point. At what point do we start talking about bringing people together in constructive and cooperative ways. I see a lot of potential for these projects to take on political dimensions, to help engage a technologically able segment of the population to organize and mobilize citizens to take action by integrating it into their everyday routines.
