Dell is just not in the PC Market.  They have been in the Datacenter and professional services space for years.

So it could be something else... How about if dell is fighting for its survival?

Gartner says that pc sales will continue to drop in 2011...

I believe that desktops/laptop as we know them at $500+ will drop to about $200 in to a VDI type of unit Like Acer Rivo... or Google Box, even perhaps $100, in the next 24 months. This is still 63% of Dell business....

How do they move in to a datacenter centric model in the next 12 months?

I know what many of you are thinking they already are in the DC! But they are the low margin player in the DC almost comoditized..

I dont think companies are buying Dell because of its innovations?

Thank you.....

Uhhhhhh ... or, it could be that they were a big thing until everyone else had adopted the same lean inventory model, driving their competitive advantage down ... or, it could be that they were a big thing until HP overtook them in the laptop market ... or it could be that they are still a huge force to be dealt with to anyone who bothers to pay attention beyond the basic consumer market, and anyone who doesn't find this interesting, or wonders where Dell gets cash, is probably a fool and/or a troll to begin with ...
