I think this sounds like a perfect situation for a OLPC laptop. It was all of these capabilities, it's supposed to be crazy rugged, it's cheap, solar powered, and you end up giving one to someone else when you buy one (plus, $200 of it is tax deductible).

The other thought which came to mind was one of the buy one for a child computer, give one and take the other one for your use. computer is for email and photos, internet, etc. Nothing processor or other system intensive.
Anyone have a solution? I like the idea of the buyone/give one computer as its designed for use anywhere.
