Re: [newtech-1] Online training modules for enterprise applications

In no particular oder -

For implementation - :
  1. Think "video games" - think rewards/completion certificates
  2. Save progress behind the scenes so that users can continue where they've left off
  3. Support both Firefox and IE
  4. Support different levels of desired interactivity, i.e. sometime i just want to read text, sometimes i want to watch bad actors play it out
  5. Break up a course into small chunks and show completion progress
  6. Quizes. not too easy and not something that will remind us of college midterms...
As for content -
  1. For developers:
    1. settings management
    2. animations that show workflow and interactions
    3. patching
    4. security
    5. api's and extensibility
  2. For non-developers:
    1. customize walkthroughs for your audience otherwise it's too high level or way too detailed
    2. pretty pictures, pretty colors
This list is open for contributions from others.

Any thoughts on the "do's and don'ts" to keep in mind while creating online training modules for enterprise applications?
 Best practices?
Prefered tools/software?

Any insights and advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
