FindMeOn has been taking up 100% of my bandwidth for the past two
years, so I haven't been able to get back to RoadSound aside from
some patent responses.

I hope to get it back up & running soon though - the market is
finally getting ready for collaboration + syndication. I've been
working on licensing/implementation deals to use the engine in other
areas with similar PR issues ( ie: film, publishing, etc ) that will
fund contractors to fix it up.

We had the whole thing running and stable, it just had a clunky
interface and the coding couldn't scale well -- at last refactoring
it was ~380 tables in postgres , and many 'simple' sounding searches
for data would require 12 table joins ( ah, the benefits of offering
a system for giving versioned meta-data and media with customizable
views ) -- that's not an issue for speed or anything, but even using
comprehensive views, the DBA role was nightmarish to add or modify
features. We were focus-group testing it with a bunch of major &
indie bands, labels & pr-firms and they all loved it. What's not to
love though? We took 'manage 4 sns sites' to 'manage 1 feed' (now
that would be 20 sns sites), we integrated their data streams
together, and we offered ways to host websites, widgets or power your
flash sites with up-to-date data. We were just too early -- If we
worked on that app in 07 instead of 04/05, we would have had 10MM in
funding. Instead we heard "but there's myspace!"
