RE: [newtech-1] Startup from square 1 advice

Does he at least have significant market expertise or connections? If he doesn’t, and he doesn’t have capital, then it could be a challenging process for him.

All the best,

David

From what I gather there's very little in the way of initial capital. It's not the most complex of builds to get to an mvp but definitely requiring quite a bit of work. Vague, I know, but to be honest I've only received the elevator pitch. It is however positioned in a market that is utterly bereft of innovation.

Does anyone have any canonical books that he should pour over?

Thanks for the help guys!

My other suggestion is to have that person attend a The Hatchery event, so you can learn the dos and don'ts of pitching to investors.

Hey Folks,

A friend of mine with very little web experience has a fairly compelling idea (don't we all) for a web app and is looking for some resources that can get him started in the right direction as far as the earliest stages of development are concerned. I can't imagine how many combined years of experience this list has so I thought I'd ask here before I send him my obligatory 'let me Google that for you' link.

Thanks!
